Starting in private practice twenty years ago, Dawn started Giles & Liew out of a fierce determination to balance a career with family life, having previously spent seventeen years working for PwC New Zealand. Dawn started the practice in a home office, doing a great job for a small number of clients. Word quickly spread and the client base rapidly grew, as did the Giles & Liew premises accordingly, growing the business into what is now a well-established, highly reputable Accounting practice. She maintains the same standard of excellence acquired during her time servicing large corporate clients to the Giles & Liew practice and strives to uphold these standards through all facets of the business.
Dawn’s personal journey in business makes her able to relate to the struggles that all business owners face when navigating through the various stages of business growth. Being in the business of providing Accounting Compliance services for thirty-seven years, Dawn has been the Trusted Business Adviser of clients across all industries, from the large to the small, from the successful to the struggling. No business is too small or too big – an ability to relate to people from all walks of life is a true testament to Dawn and to the successful team of people that make up Giles & Liew. Dawn gets personal satisfaction out of helping clients; saving them money, safeguarding their assets, helping them achieve their business goals or in some cases, saving their business and their livelihood.
Dawn is involved in the tax structuring of all family and business groups across the firm. By investing in truly getting to know her clients and their personal situation, Dawn will structure and provide advice tailored specifically to each client’s individual needs. She takes a hands-on approach to all aspects of the business and maintains an open door policy for clients and the team. Dawn reviews all client deliverables and will get involved in any client discussions requiring complex tax issues and strategic business planning or business turnarounds.
Dawn’s personable, open manner, honesty and integrity through all facets of business and personal life make her your ideal business alliance. You and your success are paramount to her and to the business.
Mother to three daughters, Dawn dedicates her time outside of the office to her family. A role model for women in business, Dawn has achieved true success, with a loving family and a successful business to go with it.
